The traditionally designed Kerala Resort is an architectural excellence and the crafts made in wood placed in every corner show the cultural identity of the place and give the feeling of ancient civilization and nature.
Periyar forest in Thekkady, is one of India's most fascinating natural wildlife sanctuaries, Spread across 777 sq.km, of which 360 sq.km is thick evergreen forest where you can watch wildlife at close range. The name Thekkady bring into once mind the elephants, unending chains of hill and spice scented plantations. Thekkaddy is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India, and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks.
The Thekkady sanctuary is one of the best in the country for watching and photographing wild life. Notable among the denizens of Periyar are the tigers, the majestic Asiatic wild elephants and the distinctive Nilgiri langur. Other animals include the wild boar, wild dog, bison, bear and leopards.
September to May is the best season to be in Thekkady. April and May are the hottest months and hence the driest part of the year. So the animals spend a lot of time by the lake. But if you can enjoy the rain, the rest of the season is also fine, and you will find the rain bringing a new drama and a new look to the whole place. Warm clothing is required from October to February since they are cooler months. June and July are rainy months.
