The fascinating Kerala beaches

Kerala beaches are quite a popular tourist spots in this tropical state of India. They are known to provide relaxation both to locals and foreign tourists.
Very often they are blessed with nature's green and blue beauties such as lagoons, delicate lakes and numerous rivers: a real, natural wonderland of Kerala state.
The beaches are spectacular!
Some of them are very large and surrounded by a crown of green, lush coconut palms; sometimes they are narrow and cosy.
You must consider along the west side of Kerala there is a unique, long stripe of sand interrupted, here and there, by a rocky promontory or a small cape, setting the line of sand like a precious stone.

Do not think these beaches are completely exploited by tourism: nothing more far from the reality. Actually Kerala has a very few structures in comparison to other tourist countries and, especially, to the lenght of the sea coast: more than 550 kms!
In most of the beaches there are only keralite fishermen and the nature is the boss!
You will be startled when seeing these places, recalling so many documentaries about the lost paradises of the world and suddenly you'll find yourself completely plunged in one of them.
Once your feelings will be urged, every single detail will permeate your emotions. The colors of the clothes of the women and kids, the repetitive songs of the fishermen, the unending sound of the waves on the shore. A music that will always be with you.

Walk along these beaches. Pick the shells on the seashore. Follow your thoughts before to come back to your near resort.
Once in the restaurant or the swimming pool you can still see, very often, the long light-yellow stripe of sand. A music in your heart!
Some of these places are a must to see: the 15 kms long Cherai Beach is the best clean golden beach of Kerala and is rightly called The Princess of the Queen of the Arabian Sea: dolphins are occasionally seen here; Varkala Beach is a quiet and isolated sandy expanse where you can have a relaxing beach holiday without the crowds and bustle of some of the busier beaches in Kerala; the two Kovalam beaches have lovely coconut palms fringe around the golden sands. Foreigners throng Ayurvedic parlors, yoga and meditation centers, that have sprung up all over the place.
You will enjoy the little restaurants where to eat fresh fish and prawns.., while admiring the sunset in the ocean.
And so many further Kerala beaches: Poovar, Mulloor, Shanghumukham, Kappil..
